AYOE 10 / Drunk on Oxygen and The Joy of a Cliffhanger
Hey friends!
It’s been a bit since I wrote you an update and I can only say that this month’s experiment has fit into my life pretty seamlessly so I haven’t had much resistance or any major revelations. So…winning? 😂
Similar to how I didn’t feel like EFT tapping was super helpful when I’m already feeling calm, deep breathing is something I’ve been using as a tool to calm anxiety for years, so adding it in multiple times per day hasn’t made a noticeable difference. Is it doing something internally? Probably, but I don’t have any specific anecdotes to share.
Don’t get me wrong - it feels amazing to flood my body with all that good oxygen, but overall I’m fairly calm anyways so I haven’t noticed any big changes.
I did do something fun this past weekend though - I attended a live (on Zoom) breathwork group session. It was a really cool experience to know other people were live and to have the benefit of the group energy for a solid hour. I’m pretty sure I was oxygen drunk afterwards 😎
The breathwork session itself was really gentle and I spent about the first 15 minutes having an emotional release (read: crying my eyes out 😭) so it’s possible that shifted some stuck emotional energy in my body (and contributed to my euphoric feelings afterwards). I’m always open to shifting stagnant energy so that’s a total win. 🥳
To round out this month’s experiment (and up my chances of getting oxygen drunk again), I’ve signed up for another live group breathwork session tomorrow and downloaded a couple of on-demand session recordings - one for releasing stuck emotions and one targeted to lymphatic drainage. I’m excited for all of them!
What’s Up Next
I’m still throwing around ideas for May’s experiment so I’m not ready to share just yet. I’ve done a few months of wellbeing related experiments and I honestly could just keep going with those for the entire year, BUT I think I’m going to mix things up a bit next month.
